Transitions self-tinting lenses
“Love to wear” instead of “must wear” – see and look better with the intelligent self-tinting Lens Transitions® GENTM S, which reacts super quickly to light and is extremely stylish. Transitions Optical offers an enhanced vision experience with the technological revolution Transitions® GEN STM, making glasses and life super comfortable. The ultra-dynamic lens adapts its tint to changing lighting conditions indoors and outdoors more quickly than ever before. Available in a brand new Ruby and a choice of eight colors, the lens combines three things that are important to glasses wearers.
GEN SPEEDTM: ultra-light sensitive Transitions® GEN STM is the fastest dark lens* (1) in the clear to dark photochromic lens category. It is completely clear indoors and darkens in seconds outdoors* (2). It reacts extremely quickly to light, reaching the third level of darkening in 25 seconds*(3) and brightening again in less than two minutes*(4). In a survey, 88% of wearers stated that the lenses adapt to the light so quickly that they hardly or barely notice the change*(5).
GEN STYLETM: spectacular color selection Transitions® GEN STM is available in eight exclusive colors, including the brand new color Ruby. All colors have been optimized to be colorfast in all phases and provide vibrant hues in any light. The dynamic lenses are completely clear indoors and beautifully colored outdoors, offering endless combination possibilities to complement any look.
* The tests were carried out with gray lenses. Photochromic performance can vary depending on color and glass material and is affected by temperature and UV exposure.(1)For gray lenses in the phototropic category clear to dark (category 3). Transitions® GEN STM lenses fade back to 70% transmittance faster and reach less than 14% transmittance when activated at a temperature of 23°C. (2) For polycarbonate and CR39 lenses in all colors that achieve a transmittance of 18% at 23°C. (3) For gray polycarbonate and CR39 lenses that achieve 18% transmission at 23°C. (4) For gray polycarbonate and CR39 lenses with a premium anti-reflective coating that reduces to 70% transmittance at 23°C. GEN SMARTTM: Effortless vision
Transitions® GEN STM provides better and faster vision quality*(6) to ensure a consistent viewing experience in harmony with different and changing lighting conditions. Thanks to the high sensitivity to light, vision recovers 39% faster*(7a) in intense, bright light than with clear lenses. During whitening, tests show an improvement in the
39.5%*(7b) contrast sensitivity and 40% faster vision recovery*(7b) compared to the previous generation of Transitions® intelligent lenses.
Additionally, the revolutionary lens provides ultimate light protection, darkening outdoors, blocking 100% of UVA and UVB rays and filtering up to 32% of blue-violet light when activated and up to 85%(8) when activated.
Transitions® GEN STM is based on five years of research into photochromic technology, during which more than 100,000 lenses were tested. This led to the development of new and improved photochromic dyes using advanced symbiotic technology.
The enhanced dyes absorb more energy within the matrix structure of the lens and work flawlessly together, allowing the dyes to strike the right balance between vibrant colors and seamless response to sunlight to ensure visual performance and durability.
